First Annual Orange High School Navy JROTC Mental Health Awareness Walk

DMAVA will have a Veterans Service Officer present to help and assist any Veteran or family member.
The NJ Junior ROTC cadets will walk in honor of Veteran’s, active service members, and their families to promote Mental Health Awareness and reduce the stigma & discrimination associated with mental illness and seeking help.
At this event in Orange Park, students, veterans, and community members will also receive information on various mental health programs and services.
At 9:30 am prior to the walk at the park the cadets will be performing the color guard ceremony and National Anthem at the East Orange VA Medical Center Campus, Front Entrance near old ED entrance by the podium. After the pledge of allegiance speakers will have an opportunity to share on the importance of mental health awareness and seeking help. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in this occasion prior to the walk at the park.
We will then head over to the Monte Irvin Orange Park at 10:00 am est. Once again all are welcome to walk with us to the park.
The cadets will begin their mental health walk at 10:15 am at Monte Irvin Orange Park. The community will have an opportunity to cheer the cadets on as they walk. The public will have an opportunity to browse through the resources at the park during the event from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm est time.
